About

Sukie has been riding and working with horses for over twenty years. As a youth, she showed at high levels in AQHA competitions, winning many awards.

As an adult, Sukie pursued her education, achieving her BA before going on to study Structural Integration at the Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO. While in college, Sukie resided in Spain whence she had the opportunity to observe horses being worked at a finca, where the mounts are trained for bull fights. She also lived in Sweden for six months, observing and riding dressage horses.

After completing her training in human structural integration, Sukie spent two years in a mentorship with a Certified Advanced RolfingĀ® Practitioner who had maintained an active equine practice for over fifteen years.

As someone who has been an elite level, internationally competitive athlete herself, Sukie has a deep understanding and respect for the challenges associated with maintaining optimal health for athletic performance. She uses her knowledge in strength and conditioning training while working with the horses to achieve the best results, and believes that treating the horse is only one side of the coin. Riders need to address their own physical alignment issues in order to create total equipoise.
